PALFINGER is searching for a Service Technician to work in our New Iberia, LA location. We are located at 912 HWY 90. E, New Iberia, La. 70560. This position reports to the Louisiana Shop Foreman.

Your Responsibilities

Assemble and disassemble fiberglass lifeboats.
Inspect, repair, adjust, and/or replace mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components within using hand tools, power/pneumatic tools, and electrical test equipment.
Assist higher-level personnel in more complex maintenance, repair, servicing, and troubleshooting of diesel engines, lifting hooks, davit/crane structures and winches.
Assist with fiberglass repairs (grinding, mold prepping, new part production, etc.)
Assist with painting (buffing, cosmetic defects, sanding, etc.)
Forklift operation (training provided.)
Crane operation (training provided.)

Your Qualifications

Basic mechanical skills.
General 12v electrical knowledge.
Clean driving record.
Shipyard experience preferred.
Auto/Diesel mechanical knowledge preferred.
Offshore Certifications preferred (provided if not available.)
Automotive/Aircraft/Airplane painting experience preferred.
