PALFINGER is searching for an experienced Quality Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position is located in Trenton, NJ and reports to the Quality Manager. The Quality Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes and products adhere to the highest quality standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform inspections during manufacturing processes and final checks before product delivery, including final vehicle inspections.
- Prepare, complete, and maintain electronic reports, procedures, and non-conformance feedback to suppliers.
- Use hand measurement tools, fixture gauges, and other inspection equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve quality issues and enhance processes.
- Investigate product defects, recommend improvements, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement through quality system enhancements, managing non-conformance, and reducing costs.
Your Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to read, write, and effectively relay detailed information to coworkers, managers, and suppliers.
- Proficient in using various measuring devices, including precision hand tools like calipers, micrometers, gauges, and squares, with training on a Coordinate Measuring Machine (Faro Arm).
- Ability to efficiently interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and follow detailed work instructions and procedures.
- Hands-on mechanical experience, preferably in automotive or transportation fields, even if non-professional.
- Strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy in quality-related tasks.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in email, webforms, data entry, and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
