PALFINGER is searching for a Design Engineer to be responsible for all aspects of Liftgate design. We are located in Cerritos, CA. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This position is On-Site in Cerritos, CA.

Responsibilities:

Solutions against agreed technical specifications for all PALFINGER LIFTGATE projects.
Ensure innovative designs conform to Industry, National, International, Company standards, and DOT Regulations.
Control and plan all aspects of design tasks for each process stage to meet budget, timescales and review dates in conjunction with the project team.
Full ‘cradle to grave’ responsibility on design projects.
Create all supporting documentation and calculations for projects and test.
Coordinate Sales staff to ensure that customer requirements are understood and correctly interpreted and driven throughout the business.
Liaison with internal/external suppliers for parts and fabrications on the development, of new components.
New/modified component designs to be value Engineered at all times with a clear focus on all cost implications.

Qualifications:

Education, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and 5-7 year relative experience.
Expert fully CAD literate, experience in drawing control. (CREO and Windchill)
Strong understanding of load calculations, materials, hydraulics and electrical design.
Strong Drafting techniques; views, dimensions, tolerances, geometric tolerances, welding symbols, exc.
Able to demonstrate application of parametric and configuration design.
Able to drive major new model introduction and cost-down design projects to specification and time scales.
Demonstrable control of multiple tasks, using identifiable control techniques and working in a clear logical, and methodical manner.
Must be self motivated, a good, clear, concise communicator, internally and externally.
Must be a team player and must be able to represent the engineering department within the business as required.
Must be able to represent the Company externally in a competent, responsible and professional manner.

Salary Range: 80 K - 100K Annual
