The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and updating technical manuals for hyraulic liftgates. This position reports to Engineering Manager. This position is on site in Cerritos, CA.

Responsibilities

•   Creating and updating technical manuals for Hydraulic Liftgates, such as Parts manuals, owners manuals and installation manuals. These are used internally and externally to provide support. Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD when drafting and creating document layouts, and illustrations is required.
•   Collaborate with service department, engineers and installers to understand document requirements and objectives.
•   Develop and update technical documents, installation manuals, owner manuals, and spart parts manuals.
•   Work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
•   Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines during execution of projects.

Qualifications

•   Associate degree in Drafting Technology or Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or proven experience as a CAD Designer or a similar role preferred.
•   Two minimum years' experienced required.
•   Experience writing and updating technical documents and manuals with the ability to take technical information and re-write it in easy-to-understand content.
•   Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
•   Technical aptitude and understanding of engineering and design principles.
•   Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and specifications.
•   Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
•   Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
•   Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
•   Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision or work on a team, self-motivated, flexible, and willing to learn.
•   Must be able to represent the engineering department within the business and represent the company externally in a professional manner.
•   Ability to participate in team meetings and communicate project status and updates effectively.
