The position is planned to be connected to the Winches, Handling and Access Equipment team, which develops and designs a broad range of solutions and equipment, such as cable laying solutions, slipway and internal logistics solutions integrated into vessels, various types of winches (A&R, anchor handling, mooring, towing), A-Frames, Passenger transfer systems to mention some. The department also includes a team for Offshore Cranes, meaning there are fantastic opportunities for getting a diverse working day and personal development. 

 

PALFINGER Marine Norway is strengthen up the engineering capacity and is therefore looking for strong technical candidates to join our mechanical discipline. With us you will participate in developing state-of-the-art and reliable products for the future. We are seeking for highly motivated and skilled mechanical engineers to join our great engineering team. With us, you will have responsibility for mechanical design of our steel structures and components. You will play a vital role in delivering projects to our customers.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Mechanical design of steel structures, assemblies, or components
  • Preparation and checking of technical documentation and drawings according to internal procedures, customer requirements, and standards 
  • Support Project department with technical documentation covering the mechanical scope for structures, assemblies and components for the project
  • Clarify technical engineering related issues with suppliers and producers
  • Provide technical support to Service department for service assignment or commissioning

Qualifications:

  • MSc or BSc degree in mechanical engineering or closely related disciplines
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering - preferably experience in development and production of cranes or other marine handling equipment for lifting appliances
  • Practical use of 3D design tools such as Autodesk Inventor or similar
  • PLM/PDM experience will be a plus
  • Good English skills written and spoken
