World premiere: PALFINGER PCC 57.002

03.04.2019

New additions from the PCC crawler crane series to be presented at bauma 2019

Following the début appearance of the PCC 115.002 at the IAA in Hanover, PALFINGER will now be presenting the PCC 57.002, a smaller, even more manoeuvrable model from the PCC crawler crane series. Even the 'little brother' can properly be described as a quick-change artist, because it is suited to any role and begins its mission right where the truck journey ends. Whether through narrow city streets, on rough or difficult terrain or during special operations in industrial or indoor settings, the PCC 57.002 is flexible, powerful and versatile, and can rise to any challenge.

An all-rounder for a wide range of uses

The crawler chassis for the PCC crawler crane is perfect for all terrain use, has high ground clearance and can climb gradients of up to 60%. When the crane is used on rough terrain, depending on the support width, slope gradients of 8° to 20° can be levelled out thanks to the long and particularly robust support feet. This ensures ultra-high lifting capacities and universal usability, even on difficult terrain. Being around 60 centimetres narrower than a conventional truck, the PCC 57.002 offers new lifting potential even in confined areas where one centimetre can make all the difference.

Maximum flexibility with maximum power

The crawler and crane can be transported and controlled separately for all PCC models. The crane’s modules can be combined to suit the application in question. If required, the crane can also operate on its own stabilisers without a crawler module. Shifting (i.e. moving the crane unit using only the stabiliser outriggers) enables progress even through extremely low and confined spaces. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the PCC 57.002 crane module can manage particularly narrow clearances of 2 metres and passenger heights of 2.2 metres. Independent container loading of the crane module is therefore also possible.

With a total weight of 22 t, the complete PCC 57.002 can be transported without a special licence (crawler and crane including jib, without counterweight). This guarantees operators enormous flexibility in daily use.

The PCC 71.002 and PCC 115.002 models do not require a special licence, provided that the individual modules are transported separately.

Everything from a single source with custom combinations available

The first crane manufacturer to offer the crane and crawler from a single source, PALFINGER creates clear added value for the customer. The three crawler, crane and counterweight modules are perfectly matched, while the interfaces and functions have been thought through right down to the very last detail. They can therefore be individually combined and operated optimally for a diverse array of tasks. For servicing, maintenance and training, one contact person has been appointed for the entire device. Initial training by factory personnel when the device is handed over and, if desired, assistance with the initial jobs, round off the service package. This, too, saves time and money.

High lifting capacity and long reach: an overview of the models

The all-rounder on a crawler chassis will initially be available in three variants of around 50 to 115 tonne-metres. The PCC 57.002 presented at bauma 2019 has a maximum reach of 29.5 metres, a maximum lifting height of 32 metres and a maximum lifting capacity of 18,200 kilograms. The slightly more powerful model, the PCC 71.002, has a reach of 31.6 metres, a maximum lifting height of 34 metres and a maximum lifting capacity of 22,000 kilograms. The most powerful model is the PCC 115.002, which has a reach of 33.3 metres, a maximum lifting height of 35.8 metres and a lifting capacity of up to 30,000 kilograms. Numerous pieces of additional equipment such as workman baskets, vacuum lifters, pipe manipulators, cable winches and grippers are available for all models. All models are available to order now.
