Production Manager

The Production Manager will be involved in the development and execution of long-term strategic planning, annual planning and short-term planning and will directly manager the metal fabrication, weld, product coatings, assembly, shipping and receiving and service parts as well as facility management. This role reports to the Senior Operations Manager, offering a competitive compensation package and opportunity for on-going career growth.
Your Responsibilities
- Actively involved in the development and execution of long-term strategic planning, annual planning and short-term planning in coordination with Council Bluffs management team; supporting the profitable growth of Council Bluffs Operations
- Directly manage the operations managers responsible for metal fabrication, weld, product coatings, assembly, shipping receiving, service parts, manufacturing engineering and facilities management
- Work closely with product management personnel and finance to develop appropriate manufacturing strategies
- Focus on safety, operational output, productivity, on-time delivery performance, and the quality of Council Bluffs products
- Actively support the drive for accurate data as a means to improve the company’s decision-making process and further improve scheduling tools
- Provide support and leadership to the operational organization in support of established operational goals and our becoming an “Employer of Choice”
- Manage staff, preparing and monitoring work schedules and assigning specific duties to support the company’s goals
- Direct and coordinate operational financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency
- Provide leadership in the elimination of waste throughout the organization with the implementation of the PALFINGER PPS system and other appropriate methods
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred (MBA a plus)
- 7-10 years operations management in a manufacturing organization
- Demonstrated Lean Enterprise implementation experience through the use of the following tools, including but not limited to; Value Stream mapping, Planned Cycle Time vs. Takt line balancing utilizing Yamazumi charts to level the work, Kamishibai, 5S, TPM, Point Kaizen improvement, Root Cause Analysis, & PFEP development.
- Experience in financial statement analysis
- SAP Experience a plus
- Labor relations / negotiation experience a plus
- Ability to travel within the U.S.A. and occasional travel to Europe
