Patent management is a central service to Global Engineering at PALFINGER, serving Product Lines and Centers of Excellences. The Patent Management function provides expert service and support for projects, patents and innovation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise internal teams on patent matters and coordinate the development and management of the patent portfolio as part of an IP team
- Conduct patent searches, filings, and defenses, with occasional patent drafting
- Perform patent administration tasks, monitor deadlines, and assist with patent docket management
- Coordinate processes and strategies with external counsel to execute global patent prosecution processes
- Perform patent due diligence activities and support the evaluation of licenses and agreements
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Several years of experience as a Patent Attorney, with expertise in patent searches, drafting, and analysis, admitted to the European Patent Office or the Austrian/German Patent Office
- University degree in a science/technology field (mechanical or electrical engineering)
- Practical experience in patent drafting, with US patent experience and private practice beneficial
- Know-how in collecting invention disclosures and conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
- Interpersonal skills, fluent in German and business English due to collaboration with cross-functional/international teams

Minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 59.766,98 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
